Late last year I received news that I had won first prize in a local writing competition for my story Fracture.  Today, I’m happy to present the story in full; available to read for a short time on my website.  The story has also been published in an anthology – I’ll be providing a link to the digital version as soon as it’s released!

The judges described Fracture as “original, unsettling, lucidly written and evocative: a very strong piece of writing.”  You can find out more about the competition here – I would encourage any local writers to enter this summer if the competition runs again.  Sticking to a word limit and a deadline can be very helpful!

If you’d like to read Fracture you can find it here.  This is the first time I’ve published a full story on my website – I’m happy for you to share the story through the link above, but please don’t reproduce it in another format.  Eventually, I’m hoping to publish Fracture as part of a collection called The Cold Side of the Pillow – more on that soon!
