Although the site is still a work in progress, I’ve been able to open up my own forum with lots of help from my webmaster, Jordan. You may be interested to know (if you didn’t know already) that the word “forum” comes from a Latin word for marketplace. In Roman times, a forum was a place you went to meet people, haggle, converse about who’s who in the world of pit-fighting and mingle with your local senators, or at least their slaves. Carrying on that noble Roman spirit (but without the brutal repression – I promise not to throw any of you to the lions) I present my own meeting place.
Within the forum’s virtual nooks and crannies you may find the Writing Group, which will be a weekly online meeting of… well, writers. If you’re interested in joining, just send me a message.
Another board in the Writing section is for proofreading – this is intended to be for creative pieces rather than academic stuff (if you want me to proofread an academic text then take a look at the “Tutor” section of the main site).
There’s also a number of message boards for discussing my own work. Please ignore these until I actually upload some of my own work. Or get published. Then you can fawn over my insane ramblings…
Finally, there’s a General section, which is, well, general. Feel free to start up conversations about more or less anything here. The idea is to develop a community, after all. Even if it’s a community of lurking lunatics, digital drifters and passing trolls.
A colleague linked me to this site. Thnx for the
details.
Wow, amazing blog layout! How long have you been blogging for?
you made blogging look easy. The overall look of your web site is excellent, let alone the content!
This design is spectacular! You obviously know how to keep a reader
entertained. Between your wit and your photos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost.
..HaHa!) Great job. I really enjoyed what you had to say, and
more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
Interesting stuff! Like the forum. Did you do it yourself?
nice forum it looks professional do you use it much??
